Binyamina Winery was established in 1952 by Joseph Zeltzer, an immigrant to Israel, desiring to to produce wine as he did in Hungary. Initially called Eliaz Winery—after the owner’s son who fell in the War of Independence, it started out in a region considered to be Israel’s wine region.

Tasting Note
MERLOT HAMOSHAVA IS A DEEP PURPLE-TINGE WINE WITH A RICH RED-FRUIT AND OAK AROMA, DELICATE SEASONING AND EXCELLENT FRESHNESS. ITS TASTE IS RICH AND BALANCED. THE MOUTH REVEALS A MEDIUM AND PLEASANT BODY WHICH ALLOWS ENJOYING THE WINE WHILE IS STILL YOUNG. IT HAS A SLIGHT COMPLEXITY AND A SHORT FRUITY FINISH.
Food Pairing
THIS WINE PAIRS BEAUTIFULLY WITH GRILLED MEATS, ROASTED POULTRY, LAMB CHOPS, AND HEARTY PASTA DISHES. IT ALSO COMPLEMENTS AGED CHEESES SUCH AS GOUDA OR MANCHEGO, AS WELL AS MUSHROOM-BASED DISHES AND MEDITERRANEAN CUISINE.
